Short hair is in season and is all the rave right now. While it looks cute, it can be incredibly difficult to style and maintain. Not to worry, here are 10 tips to maintain your cropped hair styles.
1. Use Less Product
While short hair still needs hair products, use less to prevent your hair from looking and feeling weighted down.
2. Sleep on a Silk or Satin Pillowcase
A silk or satin pillowcase helps to preserve your short hair especially when it’s styled. It prevents friction which causes frizziness and dryness.
3. Use a Deep Conditioning Treatment
Short hair also needs a lot of care. Do a monthly deep conditioning treatment to have your hair in tiptop shape. It hydrates and adds shine to your strands
4. Use a Dry Shampoo
When you hair is feeling greasy and you do not want to wash it yet, spray on some dry shampoo to refresh your hair.
5. Accessorize
Styling short hair can be a little bit of an hassle. As such, a good way to have your short tresses looking super cute is by adding hair accessories to it. Use a headband or tiny hair clips to your hair.
6. Get regular trims
Trimming your hair regularly puts it in good shape. Touch up your style every 4-6 weeks.
7. Use light oils
Heavy oils like shea butter can tend to weigh down short hair. Use light oils which can be easier to run through your hair on it.
8. Wash your hair regularly
Products buildup look less than impressive on short hair. It can have your hair looking like a hot mess. Wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner regularly.
9. Keep it moisturized
Hydration is your best friend when you have a short hair. Use a moisturizing mist on your hair regularly.
10. Reduce your use of heat styling tools
Heat styling tools like straighteners and blow dryers can be really drying to your hair. Avoid using them in styling your hair daily.
