It was kind of surreal to be in the same room with a man that I had never met before, yet who is ultimately a part of me. I was so intrigued with what he was wearing and how he moved. Tokyo James at Lagos fashion week 2019

Tokyo is a force to be reckoned with. For over a decade the stylist-turned menswear designer has flexed his talents in both Nigeria and the U.K.

His SS19  collection was sprouted when he reunited with his father and went through his wardrobe. Tokyo James began his Creative Career as a young fashion stylist in London, working for various international publications, as well as directing digital campaigns for brands such as Brioni, Issey Miyake and Puma Black Label.

The Tokyo James fashion brand was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 2015 when the Creative Director relocated back home and ever since its inception this brand has worked so hard to become a force to reckon with in the creative and media industry.

Our hearts go out to him.
