Dayo Ekong : Thriving Against All Odds

She was part of the women’s affairs members in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP during Obasanjo’s era.  She rose the ranks to becoming the Chairman of the labour party in Lagos. On her appointment  as the party’s chairperson in Lagos, it was  stated that the party is fully gender – sensitive, stressing that women were doing well in states they are in charge of.

During her formative years  in Yola Gongola State in 1983/85 she was the 1st woman ever student activist to ever attain the position of the Vice President of the student union.

It is during her tenure in the Presidential election that  history was made as she victoriously delivered an APC state to her party Labour Party. Hence this has further carved her name in the history of Nigeria politics against all odds .
