Cuffing season may be upon us, but today, I’d like to delve into my preferred type of situationship: the timeless “friends with benefits” arrangement. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there, and there’s absolutely no reason to feel ashamed about it. Let’s be frank; a friends-with-benefits relationship can be incredibly convenient. It offers all the enjoyment without the need to start planning your future together. Sounds like a win-win to me. However, it’s essential to adhere to some ground rules to ensure that your FWB relationship flourishes. There are plenty of dos and don’ts when it comes to hooking up with a friend.
There’s so much to appreciate about the concept of having no-strings-attached intimacy with someone you genuinely like and respect but don’t necessarily see a long-term future with. Nevertheless, friends with benefits can become complicated if both parties aren’t on the same page with some established guidelines. For instance, should you be open about your FWB arrangement with others, or is it meant to remain discreet? Is it acceptable to cancel a rendezvous with your FWB in favor of a real date, or does this lead to complications? Perhaps most importantly, how do you handle it if one friend begins developing deeper feelings for the other? How should such a situation be addressed? When the boundaries start to blur, complications can arise, and what was once a fun and friendly hookup can quickly turn into a source of unnecessary drama.
But if you feel this lane is for you , here are some ground rules to adhere to
