Introducing Mrs. Adaora Umeoji, the inaugural female Managing Director of Zenith Bank.

Come  June 1, 2024, Adaora Umeoji is set to assume the role of Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer at Zenith Bank Plc, succeeding Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure as CEO concludes on May 31, 2024. This transition was announced by Zenith Bank in a recent statement on their website.

Adaora Umeoji’s appointment is a milestone for the bank, establishing her as the first woman to hold the GMD/CEO position since the bank was founded in May 1990. The bank highlighted in its statement that her promotion aligns with Zenith Bank’s commitment to executive continuity, careful planning for succession, and the policy of nurturing its leadership from within the organization.

Boasting nearly three decades of banking experience, Adaora Umeoji has been a significant part of Zenith Bank for almost 26 years, stepping into the role of Deputy Managing Director in October 2016.
