Mo Abudu: A Trailblazer in Living, Loving, and Laughing

Mo Abudu, one of Africa’s most prominent media moguls and Glamour Goddess and has built a reputation for redefining African storytelling on a global scale. As the founder and CEO of EbonyLife Media, she has transformed the way African narratives are presented and consumed, promoting stories that resonate with authenticity, complexity, and cultural pride. Her journey reflects the principles of living, loving, and laughing, which she embodies both personally and professionally. While we are well versed with her various achievements ,lets put her fashion style in the spotlight for a bit .

Mo Abudu is undoubtedly a style icon – Have you seen her countdown to her 60th birthday ? Mo has successfully made a Fashion campaign of it , raising the bar and re writing the script of how to celebrate a landmark age . Mo has successfully made it a MOVIE . While she keeps serving us , we are eating it all up .

Her fashion game did not start to play out today and one really you have to give to her , she knows how to stir things up and get the room talking . Hats off to her for her love for Nigeria fashion brands , the way she wears them and the way she debuts their new designs . In her early days of Moments with Mo , women looked forward to watching  Mo not just  for the educative and engaging topics she raised but to also just to see what Mo was wearing! Although with her, its more than just looking good, its truly the love of timeless, effortless fashion.

Mo’s style is a total package, always  topping her looks with her  impeccable style of  makeup mostly done by Banke Meshida Lawal of Bmpro . Her signature makeup style is made up of the following elements

  • Natural Complexion: Mo Abudu prefers a natural and radiant complexion.
  • She typically uses a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer to enhance her skin’s natural glow.
  • Bold Eyes: Abudu frequently opts for smoky eyes in shades of black, brown, or deep jewel tones.
  • She often pairs these with dramatic eyeliner and voluminous lashes for a striking effect.
  • Nude Lips: To balance the bold eyes, Abudu often chooses nude or neutral lip colors.
  • This allows her eyes to be the focal point of her makeup.
  • Highlight and Contour: Mo Abudu is not afraid to use highlighting and contouring techniques to sculpt her features and create a more defined look.

Mo Abudu’s makeup style is a testament to her fashion-forwardness, demonstrating her ability to experiment with trends while maintaining her personal brand.

Her support for Nigerian brands is one worthy of mention . We watched her style evolve from her elaborate 40th birthday celebration to where she paraded her love for  foreign branded faves to home grown brands . Who can forget the Dolce & Gabbana piece she flaunted during the premiere of Fifty with that dotting bold red lipstick to match ? But today , we are taking notes , as she has become a fashion influencer for the “Very Big Girls” . From her bespoke made pieces from Lanre Da Silva Ajayi to custom pieces from Banke Kuku , Mo takes no prisoners .
