Mode Men Magazine Celebrates 15 Years Anniversary with 15 Covers

MODE MEN magazine; Nigeria’s premier men’s lifestyle magazine celebrated its 15th Anniversary in the capital city of Abuja on Friday night (9th April 2012) at The Edmunds Centre in heart of Wuse 2. The events Centre was transformed into three different segments for the occasion; a black carpet, photo/interview area which included a 360 videocam, different backdrops and a MODE MEN photobooth for guests to create their own MODE photo covers.

The cocktail and experiential area had a cocktail bar, Hor D’oeuvres platters and displays from Nigeria’s leading luxury fragrance, skincare and cosmetics chain MONTAIGNE PLACE, showcasing new offerings from Creed, Ajmal, ROJA and Parfums Da Marley. Skin 101 had a stand where guests got information about the clinic and tips on skincare. The last brand on display for the evening was men’s shoe brand SEKRETERIAT.
Guests then proceeded to the main hall at 9pm for the main event which was hosted by Nollywood star Gbenga Titiloye who had guests in stitches. Food and drinks flowed as new artistes LayKan and SuddenSmoke entertained with a wonderful performance after the Editior-in-Chief, Barr. Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, gave his touching welcoming address with a one-minute silence observed in the memory of his late mum whose immense contribution made the magazine become what it is today.

The evening’s major highlight was the unveiling of the magazines 100th edition cover. The 15th anniversary edition had 15 past covers to mark the landmark edition. Which includes Herbert Wigwe, Rotimi Amaechi, Dr Jibunoh, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, Ernest Azudialu and ten others. The Niger state Governor Abu Sani Bello had the commissioner of Information in Niger state (Alhaji Mohammed Sani) represent him to unveil the 100th edition. Others included in the unveiling were Mr Ike Chioke (MD of AFRINVEST), Mallam Uba. S. Malami, (Chairman Board of Solid Mineral Development Fund). Mr. Adegbe Ogbeh (CEO of Paper Hospitality) and Barr. Zainab Marwa (Founder/President ASPIRE Women’s Forum).
Arewa Music’s female artist- Harley -closed the night with her amazing debut single ‘Fire’.
Guests received two goodie bags on the night, one from MODE MEN and another from one of the sponsors of the event MONTAIGNE PLACE which included a 100ml of a niche fragrance, 7 samples of choice niche fragrances and premium botanical skincare products. For those in attendance it was a classy night of celebrations and glamour with great company, good food and wine. The event observed all the covid protocol guidelines and had just 100 people in attendance. MODE MEN continues to raise the bar in event production.
