Gist Hub : My Secret Battle with Imposter Syndrome- Kemi Adetiba, Nollywood Star, Jaiye Kuti Becomes Fashion Brand Ambassador

With the King of Boys II in the spotlight, so much is been revealed about the movie and some of the cast . Recently it was the turn of the producer – Kemi Adetiba , who took to her social media page to reveal one of her secret struggles- being imposter syndrome .

According to kemi who was responding to her brother’s ( Remi Adetiba ) message ….@remiadetiba accuses me of not enjoying the high when the applause is the loudest. He and my father believe I go into a dark place where I question things about myself that the applause already positively validates.
Like everyone else, I suffer from imposter syndrome sometimes, and it usually comes to visit when I’m riding the highest. I went through the torturous process of questioning if I deserved to be here. If I deserved to be in the conversations. Questioned what my next step would be. If I had what it takes to meet the expectations that have only heightened with this new release?
What imposter syndrome blocks you from feeling and acknowledging is GRATITUDE. I’m grateful to be here. I’m grateful to be in the conversations. I’m grateful for the heightened expectations – this means people have some faith in anything that has my name on it. I’m grateful to have the ability to be able to CHOOSE my next projects. All this was only a dream a few years ago. I’m HERE & I’m GRATEFUL!
Grateful for the overwhelming love & support YOU guys have shown both the team and KOB!!
Short inspiring story… We knew KOB 2 SERIES (by God’s Grace) was going to go straight to number 1 on release. KOB 1 FILM even unexpectedly came to join the KOB series in number 2 spot overall. And that’s where we had been for a week, before one of the biggest titles worldwide for Netflix, MONEY HEIST came right behind and told us to shift abeg. Lol. We expected this however, as MONEY HEIST is a monster title world-wide on the service.
What we didn’t expect is KOB taking the number ONE spot back again ONLY 2/3 days later. WOW🤯

This feat is entirely because YOU GUYS are watching and streaming the heck out of it.
