T & E – What led to the starting of TSC Agency?
Ozinna – I worked in an advertising agency during NYSC and always knew I belonged in the communications field ( my masters is in Corporate Communications). However, a year after being back in Nigeria, upon working on the production team with Lagos Fashion Week – I started getting requests from various fashion brands to handle their publicity. At that point, I realized I need a company to handle these requests – The Style Concierge was birthed in 2015. After years on solely working on fashion brands, we started leaning more towards the corporate brands and slowly re branded to TSC Agency in 2018
T & E – Where did your love for fashion stem from?
Ozinna – Moving to Paris, when I moved to Paris ten years ago, I realized there was fashion in any and everything.
T & E – Which living person do you most admire?
Ozinna- My mother – so cliche but so apt!
T & E- You look so much like Chimamanda Adichie, is this something you hear often?
Ozinna – I get this at least 3 times a day. Numerous DMs and messages. I always thought people were just making random comments, until my friend’s nanny complimented me years ago about loving my book. Then, I finally believed the comments.
T & E- You have a passion for both branding and fashion and based on what you do, the two go hand in hand but if you were to choose only one, which would you be doing?
Ozinna -It will definitely be branding, I love fashion but never saw it as a career path, and never intended to pursue it until the opportunity knocked me upside the head.
T & E- What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Ozinna – I can be very nonchalant – not intentionally but when I lack interest in something – it’s extremely evident
T & E – What is a typical day like for you?
Ozinna -I go to bed really late because I am most productive at night time. I always build on to-do lists. When I wake up in the morning, I pray and check out my to-do list to tackle for the day. Typically involves client meetings and strategy sessions. Most times there’s a shoot or a project at hand I have to complete
T & E- What is it that you most dislike?
Ozinna -Bad behaviour haha, just can’t seem to wrap my head around badly behaved people.
T & E- Where would you most like to live?
Ozinna -Back in Paris, I lived there in 2010 and then 2012-2014. I feel as though I left my heart behind
T & E – What quality do you most like in a person?
Ozinna -Consistency and Loyalty are the most attractive traits to me
T & E – What is your current state of mind?
Ozinna -One day at a time. 2020 has been the roughest year of my life, yet I am still here – taking it one day at a time
T & E – Who or what has been your greatest driving force?
Ozinna -My later father, Chief Willie Anumudu. He never really understood my career decisions at the beginning but always gave me the same advice – whatever you’re doing, I need you to be the best at it. Even if you’re selling water, let everyone know you’re the number 1 water supplier, with the best prices and most efficient business.
