Cosmopolitan jewelry brand, Gbenga Artsmith, presents “NECKTAR,” its first collection for 2018 which is green-themed in commemoration of cerebral Palsy awareness month. The socially-conscious brand brought together 17 celebrities and influencers from different walks of life to lend their voices to cerebral palsy, a congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone and posture. The lookbook features quite a number (17)  celebrities, influencers , professionals, Media personalities Who all looked stunning rocking chic jewelry pieces handcrafted from semi-precious stones and non-tarnish findings. Each piece was created with the personalities of the wearers in mind.

Along with the lookbook, Gbenga Artsmith also released a compelling video documentary, “Same Cast, Different Script,” which chronicles the challenges and victories of cerebral Palsy warriors (as they choose to call people living with the condition) and their loved ones. The documentary is as enlightening as it is inspiring!

It is interesting to note that all the pieces were created by disadvantaged young women from Makoko who are presently interning with Gbenga Artsmith. Towards the cause, 10% of the proceeds from the sale of pieces from the “NECKTAR” collection will go to select cerebral palsy foundations. As it is an incurable condition that reconstructive surgeries cannot correct, the only available option is to make life beautiful and convenient for the underprivileged people living with cerebral palsy.
