Reasons Nigerian brands are constantly snubbed on the Global Red carpet – Fashion Enthusiasts React

Last week , conversations were spurred on how Nigerian Designers Missed Out On Tems Red Carpet Fashion At The 2023 Oscars

This recurring decimal seems to have kept the creativity of the Nigerian designer to just the runway while the foreign brands ride on the backs of these stars of the moment to world prominence and to the banks .
Here are a few of the reaction from Fashion editors and  Lifestyle enthusiasts about these constantly missed opportuniteis .

…. some stylists are also selfish, because they want to ‘show’ that they can access high class designers ….[which will ultimately bring them more vain clients].
Stylists also serve as Consultants and advisers…..so, only a very strong, insistent and ‘I-Know-What-I-Want’ celebrity can sway them.
Celebrities that already have a Signature look can’t be swayed, but those still trying to impress the public or get some digital noise would be convinced to ‘make some noise’ or Pepperdem.
I thought of same point and searched out her stylist. Some Dunsin girl who was actually bragging too about the view blocking of folks at the event. Looks like she is a personal friend or Tems. She doesn’t look professional and apparently has never gone for a stylist seminar or training to know the Dos and Don’ts or styling Celebs in different locations.
Now, do i see Kate Middleton hiring her…NO! Even Mariah Carey or Mrs. Obama. People don’t think.
Nigerians didn’t have to drag that unnecessary trend.
Two designers I love in Nigeria, Zizi Cardow and Tianna. As much as they are Uber creative, they wouldn’t have tainted their brands by doing that in the hall. Rather, the obstructing head piece would have been detachable after the red carpet pictures.
I have seen amazing transformational ensembles by Zizi and Tianna.
What are your thoughts ? How long do you think this will go on ?
