This time I’ll be gisting you about all that went down at the Day 2 of the LAGOS FASHION WEEK 2019.
This year’s edition took place at the Balmoral hall of Federal Palace hotel VI. When I heard that fashion week was being held at the old venue I cringed. But hey! it’s still our very own Lagos fashion week, so we can’t boycott.
I got to the venue pretty late, 7pm or there about. The street style was pretty much dead, but then I got in and revived it. okurrr!  I felt like KKW, literally everyone was taking pictures of me, pictures with me, and i did tons on interviews. And about my outfit, I was wearing a two piece look from my self named brand FOLA FRANCIS, a pair of boots from KIING DAVIIDS, and FENTY’s Blockt mask, but the star of the show was my glittery head.

It’s safe to say I was the talk of the day 2 of Lagos fashion week 2019. (All tea henny)

The shows started late as usual, the schedule showed that the shows were supposed to start for 6pm but the shows didn’t start until past 8pm.
ORANGE CULTURE opened the show and it was everything you would have expected. I mean sheer, androgynous pieces, organzas and colors. To the fair every designer that showed on the day 2 brought their A game.
Adebayo Oke-lawal of Orange Culture
YUTEE RONE was another designer worth talking about. I love the choice of colors for the collection, I mean pastel pink, taupe, burgundy, and silver. TOKE MAKINWA opened her show in a gold number, the fit wasn’t great on her at all. She kept holding the dress to her left shoulder so it doesn’t fall off. Kinda felt bad for her because she walked well. She also closed the show in burgundy 3 pieces set. The fit was equally terrible. It wasn’t flattering her body whatsoever. I don’t think they fitted her into any of those pieces beforehand. That’s too bad

Another designer I loved was DZYN. I absolutely loved everything about her show. The show was like something out of a Golden garden, mostly because of the fabrics. I loved the puff sleeves, the yellow net, the white net, the blue net, the metallic floral pieces, loved it all. I lived when Toni Tones came out strutting in her blue dress. The fit was quintessential on her.
My ultimate favorite and the closing designer of Lagos fashion week day 2 was TOKYO JAMES. Everyone already knows how I feel about TOKYO and his pieces, but last night there was a shift in his aesthetics, and I wasn’t mad at it one bit. The pieces were feminine, refreshing, it was like daylight. I loved the floral pieces, the see throughs, the frills, scarfs, the jackets, loved it all. Loved how he still stayed true to that leather life with corset harnesses, and other leather detailing. Emerging artist REMA and DJ SPINALL also walked his show.
It was a great show altogether. I look forward to the rest of my time at fashion week, because the day 2 was a great start.
