Funke: It changed me a lot. Being a mum makes me more dedicated to family. Before the babies, I was more about work and the business. So many times I didn’t even have time for myself but being a mum makes me more caring. Seeing my own children, a part of me, into two, I have to care for them. It makes me more caring, compassionate and it gives me more time to be with them.
Being a wife to a very good man is the best thing that has happened to me. It has changed me , how I think about myself and other people. Being married to Abdul has made me appreciate love and family more because Abdul is all about the family so it’s been good for me and the change has been positive.
T&E: Who can you say you admire , and why ?
Funke: Wow!!! I admire a lot of people. In my career I would say Tyler Perry. Tyler is a pacesetter, a deep filmmaker, he’s really original. I love the fact that all his content is family oriented. It promotes family values and morals. He really shaped me in script writing because I learnt a lot from his scripts, I have learnt a lot of writing from his projects career wise soI would say I admire Tyler Perry a lot.
Fashion wise, I admire Tiwa Savage, Toke Makinwa, Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic.
When it comes to healthy living, I admire Kate Henshaw a lot. She’s so disciplined and dedicated and I love how she takes good care of herself. Look at her at 50 looking stunning. I love Tope Alabi so much, I admire her lifestyle. Her songs inspire me. I admire a lot of people and if I keep counting, we would not leave here.
T&E: What would you say is your most treasured possession?
Funke: My most treasured possession is my family, my husband and my kids. To God be the glory for the opportunity and grace to be a wife to a good man and a mother to two beautiful boys.
T&E: When and where would you say you are usually the happiest?
Funke: I am always happy when I impact people’s lives and see the results. I’m usually happy when I make people happy either through the content I put out, through blessing a soul or saving a life by being given the opportunity by God to help the person financially or health wise.
As for the where – it has to be my bedroom. I love my bed and my duvet while chilling and watching films. Though I hardly do it these days because I’m so busy.
Also being with my family, my children, my husband, like we are on vacation . My Me time is also a happy place for me.
T&E: What do you feel is your most marked characteristic?
Funke: I think it’s my boldness. The fact that I don’t lie to myself and stick to the truth. I am a perfectionist and a big critic of my work and myself. If I do something wrong, I accept it immediately so I think that stands me out. A lot of people would say ‘she’s a workaholic’ yes I’m a workaholic and it makes me stand out.
T&E: What is your greatest extravagance?
Funke: I think that would be my shoes. I love shoes a lot and I can spend anything on shoes. My shoes are all expensive and I can buy four pairs at a thousand pounds each and because that is the only way I pamper and reward myself sometimes – I work round the clock. I am always busy working, writing, producing, creating content so when I have time, I just want to see the beautiful shoes, take pictures with them, set up my closet and be a little vain.
I don’t really like to buy expensive bags because I hardly carry bags, I don’t like to carry bags. Most of the time, my bags are always with my PA except during events where I carry purses and even the purses, I just use it to hold my phone because of my emails and messages which I make sure to attend to immediately.
T&E: What do you consider fun?
Funke: Chilling with family,…
