Yeye Cabaret Is Back This 2020

It’s no news that mothers are irreplaceable in our lives and should be celebrated at every given chance.
Yeye Cabaret, an entertainment showcase is set to specially celebrate mothers, mentors and caregivers on mothers’ day, treating them to an evening of pampering and indulgence in a relaxed ambience of serenading soulful music, where Theatre meets Fine Dining – all in one place.
This uniquely curated showcase serves as a way to promote the creative industry with the talents of Thespians, Chefs, Dramatists, Milliners and the likes on display on the day.

In a statement, the conveyor of the event – Ayodele Ogundipe said: “As a foremost entertainment brand promoting the culture of Mother’s Day celebration in Nigeria, we want to leverage our platform to help raise awareness on social issues that affect women especially mothers in our society through theatre.”

This initiative as a showcase aims to promote the Arts, Culture and Tourism sectors of the Nigerian economy as an investment-worthy sector to grow the economy.

The event will be running for the 7th consecutive time and is set to hold on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at The Podium, Lekki and is themed, “This Woman’s Work”. This year’s edition focuses on raising awareness for Maternal Mental Health which involves having conversations surrounding Postpartum Depression (PPD). Asides focusing on the women, there will on be conversations with the men on how best they can support their partners during this period. There will be a theatre production, specifically, a musical, to highlight issues relating to PPD and proffer solutions as well as where to get help.

ABOUT THE ORGANISER

Architect by Day, moonlights as a poet by night.’ A graduate with a first degree in Architecture and a Masters degree in Design and Digital Media. Beyond the practice of Architecture, Ayo Ogundipe has a passion for the Arts with a bias towards the performing Arts. He is the CEO of Eclectic 21 Limited – a production company for live performance showcase where he pursues this passion with a flagship production to its testament – Yeye Cabaret – The biggest annual Mother’s Day showcase in Lagos State which he created back in 2014 – now in its seventh consecutive edition. He is an author with a published book to his name. His first book was published at the age of twenty as an undergraduate. A concept anthology (poetry) to commemorate his Twenty-First birthday with the fitting title Eclectic 21. He is also a performer often commissioned for private events where he showcases his talent in a unique style called Sound Poetry. An avant-garde style of performance that fuses poetry ballads – spoken words with a variety of musical genres – where the poem and the music complement each other as one piece – neither existing without the other. Ayo Ogundipe is a creative that draws his inspiration from a wide variety of sources. He explores various themes – life experiences, ideologies, environment – anything or anyone to express his creative desires which are endless but grounded with a sense of responsibility to inspire a generation and impact society positively. He lives by the mantra – Success is never convenient!
