Why are guys really polishing their nails?

The truth is for men and women alike, painting their nails can be a fun activity. However, because of gendered expectations, some people interpret men wearing nail polish as a statement, instead of a just for fun fashion detail. While other men are taking advantage of this assumption to make a particular statement or stand up for a cause.

Men wearing nail polish isn’t just a growing trend; it’s a statement of self-expression. Here’s why guys with nail polish—and those into in beauty and grooming—should do as they please. In some cases ,  straight guys paint their nails black – well according to history , nail polish among men has been used to be an indication of status and place in society. So it won’t be unusual now for men to paint their nails black as a way of displaying their status and help them stand out in a crowd.

Some men just want to do it for fun, without an attached meaning. The assumption of an inherent statement in some ways may reinforce the stereotype more, because it assumes that men would never do it just for fun the way girls do.
