The labour of Our Heroes Past Shall Never Be in Vain…Celebrating Nigeria at 62
In spite of all that Nigeria has been experiencing in the past days, the truth is that it does not change our nationality as Nigerians.
The 5th line of the first stanza in the National Anthem, “The labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain” emphasises on our late patriotic heroes that saved the country from the British/colonial masters. They did most of the work but today at 62 years, the labours of those heroes are vanishing if not almost in vain.
Heroes
With most of her citizens on a massive exodus out of the country aka Japa, topping the charts in world malnutrition list in Africa, insurgencies, bad governance, total collapse of the naria etc This is the ONLY place we can call home .
Nigerians are known for their vibrant and friendly energy expressed through diverse creative expressions. Home to over 200 million inhabitants, Nigeria has one of the largest populations of youth, and is the sixth most populous country in the world.
We pray and hope that the incoming administration will ensure that labour of our past heroes would never be in vain. May we sight the development we pray for in Nigeria whether here or out of the country.
