Tribe and Elan Awards of Recognition 2022

The year 2022 was an awesome year . The way Nigerians especially sprung back fully charged from the previous year of Covid , it gave hope  and a huge dose of encouragement al through the year despite the numerous challenges of the country .

From  fashion, to Beauty and Lifestyle concerns to music , content creation and in betweens , we as Nigerians bear the mark of Game changers where ever we thrive .

The 30 Recognized individuals and brands is a listing of some of the “Away from the Norm”kind . Leaving behind stereotypes and charging their own field of expertise . Its a listing of a few who kept conversations going while setting the bar high in and out of the country as a whole. National Flag bearers of some sort , we present to you Tribe and Elan 30 Awards of Recognition 2022.

1 – Outstanding Africa Fashion week – Glitz Africa Fashion Week ,Accra – Ghana

This platform celebrated a decade in operation last year . Over the years , they have not only showcased fashion talents but discovered new ones . Some of the well celebrated Nigerian brands today , has one time or the other participated in the high profile fashion event in West coast – Ghana .

2 – Most Stylish Fashion designer – Lisa Folawiyo

The styling, attitude, delivery, effortless charm of this fashion designer, keeps us glued to her page . According to a recent publication (Maestromedia ) ….Nigeria’s undeniable ‘goddess of style’ on major steroids, the incomparable, superlative, extraordinary, titillating Lisa Folawiyo `.  It’s not just only about her style IQ- which is obviously way & far above the usual…. but her shoe-sense, be giving the highest, deepest ‘shoegasm’ one can think of””. Its like Lisa never has a bad hair day and even if she does , we crave to look like her .

3- Most Creative Fashion brand of the year – Eki Kere

This brand came to our subconscious from its first International debut at the Glitz Africa fashion week in Ghana . Followed by the immediate report in Vogue, this brand has become a favorite with its organic style and unique twists .

4- Designer of the year – Banke Kuku

Banke Kuku never ceases to wow us with her indigenous designs . Just when you thought you had seen it all , you are in for just another pleasant surprise.

5- Most Sought After Fashion Brand – Dye Lab

This brand had a good year – we can tell you that for free. From their trade show during the fashion week and all other trunk shows they participated in , potential buyers were greeted with a SOLD OUT welcome . Their fan base cant get enough of their designs .

6- Stylist of the year – Medlinboss

If she did not have a busy year then we don’t know what to say about Medlinboss. Its was like everybody wanted a wardrobe make over from her . She ended the year in a bang with her new fashion outlet .

7- Millinery brand of the year –  CHRISTINE’S ATELIER

When it comes to classy avant- garde head pieces and hats , this brand has become a household name and they have kept their space safe and clean with the most covetous pieces yet .

8- Most Stylish Male Personality –  Ebuka Obi-Uchendu

Need we say more about Media personality – Ebuka ? He has held this position for some time now due to the fact that he is unafraid to experiment and push boundaries when it comes to his style .

9- Most Entertaining Event Video – Shot by Nobs

Just when we were still basking in the numerous offerings of reels and the likes , content creator – Noble Igwe switched thigs up and took it up a notch . by ensuring his lively videos give you an entire glimpse of the guest list and moment to moment activities in live and living color .

10- Accessory brand of the year – Raya Jewelry

One of the most creative fashion accessories for women , the Raya jewelry brand has stayed consistent in delivering beautiful accessory pieces in semi precious gems in the most colorful designs .

11- Beauty Influcer of the Year –  Powede Awujo

Po Po as she is fondly called , has overtime become the IT girl when it comes to beauty brands . Although the ex beauty queen and mum of 2 does her thing in fashion , her smile and deliverance in the beauty sect can not be ignored even if you tried .

12- Fashion Muse of the Year –  Chioma Ikokwu

aka Chioma Good hair . She has inadvertently become the perfect muse for some fashion brands especially that of the brand  – Weizdhurm Franklyn . Everything she steps out in is regal and she carries them pretty well . The hair mogul and lawyer sure loves looking good and promotes a number of homegrown brands over foreign labels.

13-  Concept Store of the Year – Alara

We love them for their inclusivity . This Luxury concept store is so giving anytime you go past their doors . From the architecture to the brands presentation , Alara has become second home to loads of African brands seeking to find a place in Nigeria .

14- Female Influencer of the Year –  Priscilla Ojo

Just like her celebrity mum – Iyabo Ojo , Priscy has grown her own crowd following to becoming one of the most sought after Influencers in Nigeria . Not playing in the fields of small time brands , Priscy has been signed up with a list of International brands more than her peers  .

15-Male Influencer of the Year –   Eni Adeoluwa

With all his skits and social appearances , Enioluwa and his Geng sure got us entertained in the year 2022 . if there is one guy that racked up most brand endorsements – It would be Eni . From fashion to beauty to Lifestyle , Eni had a busy year .

16- Lounge Par Excellence of the Year – Zaza Restaurant & Lounge

Since their opening last year amongst others, Zaza has become the place to see and be seen . You are sure to tick all the boxes when it comes to the ambience , food and customer service .  They have entertainment, food, music & vibes on a lock down .

17- Nightlife Club of the Year – The Library Lagos

If we are to go by what is making the rounds out there, we hear it the the most beautiful club in West Africa ( no cap ) . The owners sure took their time to raise the bar and fling it over , making it almost impossible for others to meet up in their game . Not forgetting they are the newest and hottest in town.

18- Traditional Spa of the Year – The Henna Place

Time tested and trusted , the Henna Place has been focused in delivering optimum service to their customers and catering to their beauty need using ancient and traditional processes .

19- Hair Brand of the Year – Darling

Darling was one of the most interactive and relatable brands in the year . With their numerous engagements with influencers and  non influencers , they paraded the numerous offerings and versatility of their brand .

20 -Supportive Financial Establishment of the Year – Gtbco

Wit their fashion weekend , Gtco has been in the fore of promoting Small and Medium business enterprises in the fashion , beauty and Lifestyle sector . With their free stalls , mentorship programs , fashion installations and runway ,  the Gtco fashion weekend has gradually become a festival not to miss .

21  – Beauty brand of the year –  Skin By Zaron

When you hear the name Zaron , you do not just stop at makeup but an entire beauty routine plan . From the berthing of their skin care range , this brand has improved on all pores in ensuring healthy skincare practices for a more presentable You .

22- Most Stylish Female Entertainer – Tiwa Savage

Undisputed, Unrivaled  ….Tiwa Savage’s involvement in the Fashion and Beauty space says it all . Been the only female entertainer to get an International fashion endorsement , we hope to see more home grown brands follow that route this year .

23- Bridal Designer of the Year  – Matopeda

Since the diversion of the brand into the bridal sector , the attention for their pieces has been amplified and the demand on the increase . Even as they are competing favourably with international brands , their customer base internationally is also on the increase .

24- Couture Designer of Year – Veekee James

Couturier of the moment , Victoria James popularly known as Veekee James is one designer that has stood out with her designs and style of work. The Akwa Ibom born entrepreneur is known for her illusion and sheer gorgeous dresses which are mostly worn by brides and red carpet appearances.

25 – Menswear Designer of the Year – Seyi Vodi

Abuja based menswear fashion designer . Seyi Vodi has built an empire based on his expertise in traditional menswear as well as casual pieces . Despite the controversy that trailed his brand last year , his brand still remains untainted .

26 –  Restaurant of the Year – Circa Non Pareil

This brand is well known for their cozy Ambience, palate tasty Food, excellent Customer service, thirst satisfying cocktails and consistency in service  .

27 – Bridal stylist of the  Year- The Style Infidel

Known as your out of the box stylist ( his name says it all though ) , Tosin has worked with quite a number of fashion designers as well as fashion weeks to show for his years in the industry , little did we know he had another ace up his sleeve as his creativity has once again shone , this tome in the bridal industry as stylist of the bride to be .

28 – Model Agent of the Year – Elohor Isiorho

Elohor Elizabeth Isiorho is a Nigerian modelling agency pioneer, former beauty queen, founder of Beth Model Management Africa and Face of Africa, and entrepreneur with interests spanning modelling, beauty pageantry, as well as other lifestyle sects . Her models are seen boldly on international platforms working with highly placed brands .

29 – Fashion Disruptor of the Year – Denola Grey

Denola is one dude that is well known for his high fashion stakes . As stylish as they come , most designers who want to stir conversations look to him readily for that spark . Who can forget the”Implied Thong” move he pulled off last year ? Epic !!!!

30 -Model of the year – Mayowa Nicholas

aka The Unicorn , there is no stopping Mayowa from reaching the top . Its been always one major brand deal after the next . We applaud her for flying the Nigerian flag proudly wherever she goes .
