Bolaji Ayinde holds a Bsc.Management with Computing & majored in marketing at Regent University College of science and technology Accra, Ghana.  She is the creative director and CEO at Nouva Couture Limited, where she creates distinctive pieces uniquely identified to different body builds.

Bolaji has worked with and for reputable clients, styled models and featured in magazines in and out of Nigeria. She was also recognized by GUCCI for her bestselling piece called the “RINA” dress. She currently had an interview with “London College of fashion oxford Street” because they are using the brand “Nouva Couture” as a case study to represent the African Fashion scene.

1- How long have you been in the fashion business?

I’ve been in fashion business for well over 14 years doing this out of my dormitory room in school, fashion is all i leave for, it’s all I’ve known it’s all I’ll ever know.

2- Why did you decide to become designers over everything else?

Good question, so this has been a journey for me, i decided to be a fashion designer when i was in QCY in 2003 as i studied clothing & textile in secondary school it was an a course for me well above all other courses, i developed a passion for it instantly…. I did not even think i would be accepted as a profession in the nearest future….. I just said to myself i love the course I’m going to a part of my life and living forever… lol here i am now.

3- Your veering into fashion, what informed this move and the name?

The name nouva is a name so close to home and my heart. It means new, i decided to name my fashion label nouva couture cause that name was the name my late mum used to start off her 1st company… she called it nouva Nigeria limited, the company was one of the 1st Nigerian furniture company known in the 70s & early 80s. As you would notice the name is French and that because my mum was French speaking and had lived most of her years in France….. That’s the link lol.

4- Tell us about the Nouva Couture woman?

The nouva couture woman is very simple, sophisticated, classy, poise and effortless woman that emulates respect, control, handwork, and strength her respective work field. She carries herself with finesse and leaves people speechless. Every woman indeed should be a nouva woman

5- What are your future plans for your brand?

THE NEXT STEP FOR US IS MORE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION, GROWTH AND EXPANSION
