I’m so sorry this is coming a little late, I’ve literally being so swamped with life and post fashion week sleep. Let’s dive straight into the gist.
I arrived the day 3 of Lagos Fashion week early because photographers weren’t so happy they couldn’t take my day 2 look with Sunlight. So I got to the street style around 5:30pm. I was rocking recycled pieces from my closet. An old denim infusion with tules, a shirt from River island, paired with a gigantic hat(That looked like a tatch roof ). I was so excited about my outfit and the positive attention it got.
There were also lot of interesting looks on the street style, I was mostly intrigued by the variant hair colors, the latex pants, and exaggerated ponytails.
The shows started late as we’d expected. I’m gonna go straight to my favorite shows from the day 3. Enjoy!
One of my faves has to be ASSIAN. I absolutely loved how androgynous the collection was. Loved the frills on men, loved the silk pieces, the metallic pieces in silver and rose gold, the pleatings, the frill shorts, the maxi jackets, the deconstructing shirts, the pearls on the models, and of course the bags, I loved all the pieces. I totally see myself rocking them all. And I loved how TOSIN of THE STYLE INFIDEL and UGOCHUKWU of 14ZEROSEVEN strutted in, giving us all the vibes.
Cynthia Abila

Another designer I loved was CYNTHIA ABILA, this designer gave us chiffon on steroids, I was living for the volume on some of the dresses, loved the bright colors, the cut outs, and the extraness of sleeves. But the highlight of her show was when a model’s legs were trembling on the runway. We initially felt bad for her because we thought “maybe they gave her bad shoes”, and she could not walk well in them, but then she came out for the final walk in block heels, and homegirl legs were still shaking. It was in that very moment we knew they followed her to the fashion week.(lmao) The way she stomped and wobbled , was epic . The crowd cheered her on all through .

Maureen Ikem of Sunny Rose
But my ultimate favorite of the night has to be SUNNY ROSE! Her pieces legit gave me goosebumps. Her pieces were magic! OMD! I’m still living for how high fashioned the shoes and beaded clutches the models rocked were. The styling was so good. Everything about her show was perfect. From the yellow pleated chiffon pieces, the Ankara print in different colors, the embellishments, the peacoat, the Ankara corset, the lavender fringe on the yellow dress, to the closing angelic white dress. The collection was clean and crisp.
On a lighter note, we need CLAN to sit few fashion shows out. Their pieces are getting more basic every season. We didn’t come all the way to fashion week to be watching basic shows.
Thanks for reading. My review on the finale of Lagos fashion week will be posted soon. Stay informed.
