
It is quite common to see children who were born with very thin hair but by the time they turn two or three years, their hairline is fuller, thicker and shinier. This miracle do not come in packaged products most times , rather they are derived from their diet .
Let’s look at some simple home remedies that can help strengthen your child’s hair.
1. Yoghurt: Is a natural thickening product. Beat a cup of yoghurt well, apply it on your child’s hair and leave it to dry for half an hour. Wash out with a gentle shampoo and conditioner.
2. Coconut Milk: This is known for softening and the hair soft and adding volume to the hair.
Apply freshly extracted coconut milk on your child’s scalp and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Rinse it out with cool water. This can be repeated two to three times a week.
3. Massage with Rosemary Essential Oil: Dilute 2 or 3 drops of rosemary essential oil by mixing in 2 tablespoons of carrier oil such as olive oil or coconut oil. Gently apply and massage into scalp for about 10 minutes.Let it seep into the hair follicles by leaving it on for at least 30 minutes and then wash it out with shampoo.
4. Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe vera balances the pH levels of the scalp and accelerates hair growth. It also moisturizes the scalp and keeps it dandruff free.
Scoop out fresh gel from an aloe vera leaf and run it in a blender.Apply the gel onto your child’s scalp and leave it on for a few hours before washing with lukewarm water. Can be repeated two to three times a week.
5. Egg Mask: This home remedy is used all over the world for quick and natural hair growth. Eggs are known to contain high levels of proteins which help in the formation of new hair. It is also rich in sulphur, zinc, iron, selenium, phosphorous and iodine.
For the egg mask, separate one egg white in a bowl and add one teaspoon of olive oil ( this can also be substituted with grape seed oil or lavender oil )and honey. Make a paste and apply it all over the hair and scalp for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water and some shampoo.
