Come the 24th September, @thelagosbridalshow opens with an intimate evening bringing together the media, designers, sponsors and key voices shaping Nigeria’s bridal industry.
But at the heart of the evening is a conversation that is long overdue:
Where is the Nigerian bridal industry headed and what will it take to build an industry that is bigger, stronger and more globally recognised?
The panel will be bringing together thought leaders and industry insiders for an honest conversation about the business of bridal, the opportunities within the industry and for export and the role of fashion media and investors.
Meet the voices joining us for this important conversation.
The panel session will be moderated by Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi -a dynamic media personality, storyteller, and entrepreneur whose influence spans radio, podcasting, and fashion. Known for her sharp cultural insight and warm, relatable voice, she has built a career centred on meaningful conversations, creativity, and culture. Gbemi currently hosts The Fashion Roundtable, a fashion and culture podcast that brings together voices across the industry,to discuss trends, challenges, and the evolving identity of African fashion.
Joining the panel session, is Kola Kuddus –Kola Kuddus Yusuf is the Founder and Creative Director of KolaKuddus Couture, an Indigenous Nigerian Menswear fashion brand. He is well known for his ‘Urban African’ designs, which is a unique blend of African authenticity and Western creativity.
Diipo Ayo-Adeusi of Light in the Marketplace brings insight into this conversation from a stylist’s perspective. Diipo Ayo-Adeusi is an image consultant, fashion stylist, fashion designer, costume designer and creative director, and the Founder and Creative Director of Light in the Marketplace and King & Consort.
Shadiat Kosoko is the founder and creative director of Shadiat Alasooke A luxury Aso oke brand known for its modern interpretation of traditional Nigerian Bridal and celebratory fashion. Through distinctive design and exceptional craftsmanship, Shadiat continues to reimagine Aso oke for the modern bride and celebrants, blending heritage, creativity and contemporary luxury.
Fade Awolesi is the founder of My Wedding Inspiration, a wedding inspiration platform launched in 2015, curating wedding trends, bridal fashion, décor ideas and real wedding stories that help couples plan meaningful and memorable celebrations. Fade began her career in the wedding media space as the founding Wedding Editor of BellaNaija Weddings, an experience that sparked her love for weddings and laid the foundation for her work in wedding and bridal content.
And finally, the panel session is joined by Rhoda Ebun @rhodaebun the founder of The Lagos Bridal Show , creative director of @rtfcompany and its affiliates. Rhoda has over a decade’s experience in fashion, media, consulting and creative strategy. Rhoda is invested in creating platforms that support the fashion ecosystem in Nigeria.
